Hi there,
Just thought I would try something different, something I haven't seen before.
This is version 4,I tried long runners with the carbs down the left side under the bonnet in 2 different diameters but that produced a lot of stand off. This set up seems to be working ok,150 RWHP from a standard old 2.5 out of a 90 that stood for 15 years.I tried it first on E85 but decided it was a waste of time on a low compression set up and am now just using 98 ULP. I ran the car at Easter and was surprised that the handling wasn't very badly affected  by the extra weight of the V6,I managed low 1:25's(Mallala) on E85 and 98 petrol with the same jetting but is was real rich on petrol with the jet sizes about 1.5 times bigger than needed.
Next sprint on June 16 should be fun,now it is tuned for petrol or what passes for petrol these days!!.
Cheers
Andrew

Excellent work! It's good to see there are others willing to break the norm! Well done! I'll be following this closely so keep us up to date on how things progress.
Interested to know how the drive ability was? More info on the things you tried and what you found.
Keep not up :)

I would love to see a video and hear this thing.

The drive ability is great,
Plenty of low down grunt and pulls like a train but runs out of revs a bit quick compared to the 4 cyl I am used to,some different cams should fix it but I will just run it as is for the moment. It also doesn't even have extractors yet as I wanted to get a feeling for the handling around the track before developing it to much, they tell me the sound of it going around the track is great!.
I tried the 164 inlet manifold and chrome pipes coupled to my own runners(38mm) and carby flange down the left side of the engine first,it looked great but had huge stand off at 5000 rpm so I made a new manifold all the way back to the ports in 36mm thinking it would increase the gas velocity and cure the stand off but it didn't######!!!!.Then I made a big air box for the carbies but that made it perform even worse so I decided the only thing left to do was to shorten the runners significantly, that fixed it!.

That's a cool project.  Are you still running the L-Jet ignition? Are they DHLA40s?

Hi there Folks, this project has been one hell of a challenge for our life member Andrew, if anyone can make this a successful engine change Andrew will, the good news is this engine change / modification now puts Andrew into a different AROCA SA circuit sprint Class, so what is the good news, it now gives me a chance to win racing under 2 litre again in my Alfetta GT 2L.
What about coming out to Mallala Sunday June 16th and have a 'looksee (if you reside in SA), no entry fee for the public and you can have a chat to us in the pits.
Cheers.

Hi There,
Thank you for the kind words Malcolm.
Scott,
I was very pleased as the 90 distributor still has mechanical advance and the dizzy fires the Alfetta ignition module very well. I have a Master Blaster MSD coil in the Alfetta electronic ignition and it produces a really good spark,it is all so simple and easy!.
