Hi everyone,

I am in the process of purchasing a 2007 159 JTS 2.2 manual, 72,000k's. I have never owned or driven an Alfa before and was hoping for some feedback on others experiences with this model and or what I should be looking out for.

thanks in anticipation

Usual things, service record, misaligned panels and paint mismatch sure signs its been in an accident, the 2.2 JTS can sometimes stretch its camshaft chain causing the timing to go and sluggish performance and it eventually stretches so far the car goes into limp mode and and its time for a new timing chain, the JTS stands for Jet Thrust Stoichametric, which means high pressure lean burn fuel injection, great fuel economy and uses a bit of oil,  like ALL Direct injection, have an Alfa Specialist give it a look over, don't waste your time with the RACV, In Melbourne, club members use Marranello Pursang Motors Brunswick, Monza Motors Bayswater or Mauceri Motors in Clayton, just depends on where you are, these places just work on Alfa Romeo's and have been around for up to 40 years, its good that you have chosen the manual, much more fun!, drivers car, with no Selespeed issues, Colin.
