Hi All,
I've already taken advantage of your forums a lot in the past few weeks conducting research...so thanks for that!
I've just bought my first Alfa, a 2001 147 TS and have got to say I'm very very happy.  Haven't owned a real 'driver's' car before and I have a huge grin every time I hear that engine or point it at a corner.
Here's to many happy km's :)

Welcome Josh!

Have a think about joining the vic club, you get a full colour magazine with interesting articles, a register contact who can help with technical enquiries, contact with club sponsors, and more group drives and social events than you can shake a gear stick at. You might consider a club driver training day, lots of fun in a safe environment on a race track.

Regardless, enjoy your new acquisition!

Welcome to Alfa Romeo ownership Josh, next Sunday we have a Sunday drive to Ballarat, with fellow Alfa drivers and end up with lunch in Ballarat, and come along to a club night and talk to owners and find out the best place to get your 147 serviced and where to buy spare parts, Colin.

Thanks guys. I'm busy next Sunday but I will get along to one of the nights/events at some point.  It's been serviced at Maranello Pursang lately and Lance Dixon originally, I know they're both sponsors so I imagine people would recommend sticking on that path, which I plan to anyway.
Despite being 12 years old, she only just hit 80,000km yesterday so hopefully there's still plenty of life in it for me :)

The owners in the Alfa club recommend the service providers that do the best job, they can be quite vocal about any bad service they find, as you most likely know, cam belts every 3 years or 50,000 klms or whichever comes first, check the oil level every week, as they like a drink of oil and 10-40 fully synthetic racing oil of your favourite brand of oil, Colin.
