Sadly, Mick Ronke CEO of Winton Motor Raceway and Secretary of Benalla Auto Club passed away yesterday morning.

Very sad news indeed, best wishes to his 2 sons Matthew and Adam and the rest of his family and friends, he will be sadly missed by many including the wider motorsport community.

Mick had done more for motorsport than just about anyone else in Australia and was a huge champion of grass roots motorsport.

Mick was instrumental in the formation of AASA, he also instigated the purchase of Wakefield Park in Goulburn NSW on behalf of Benalla Auto Club

Some of you may have met Mick in your many travels to Winton

There is a fair bit on http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/04/30/tributes-flow-for-winton-boss-mick-ronke/

Most people who met Mick in passing had no idea how much he contributed to and cared for our sport.  Every time we drive through the gates at Winton in future we should tip our hats and say g'day to the big fella.
