Can anyone tell me how wide a 105 diff is from  axle flange to axle flange .

All depends what you want to do with one.
What did you have in mind with one ?
Road ?...track ?,,rally ?,,dirt ?abuse ?,,burnouts ?

They can do that easily Pancho.You wont bust one with what you are going to use it for.

I guess im waiting for MGBalfa to tell us what type of car,and HP and engine capacity + ratio he will want the diff for.
Most out there wont need any more than a standard 1 wheel screamer anyway

3.9  or 4.1 ratio diff  to start with
Hopefully 140 -160 HP

Hi MgbAlfa,

With regards to your 2L motor, are you expecting 140-160bhp at the flywheel or at the wheels?  If at the wheels, can you give me a clue/ideas on how you will do it?  ie what internals, carbs, cams etc etc.  Nothing sinister, but just learning and see what others have done and possibly lead to some healthy discussion.

140 HP @ flywheel with cams , head work and good carb tune, I am told should be quite achievable .
With more R&D, injection ,exhaust system 160hp may be possible.
Any thoughts . Am I on the right track ?

No mate . Have changed the front hubs to suit bolt on rims . That is why I asked the question regarding the 105 diff.
Have now found a guy at the gold coast , he can graft nissan R31  axle tubes on to a hilux Housing , to the width i need (1320mm) with new custom axles, pcd 114.3mm  x4 32spline utilizing the rear Nissan  disk brakes . Wheels I may be using 205 45 16

Sounds like a fun project.  Personally I always found the old B a lovely looking thing and simple in the way of post-war British sports cars, but like other British sports cars it lacked any sort of quality underneath.  And when they did try to be creative (think Stag, Dolomite Sprint, Jensen Healey) they generally forgot to make sure it still worked reliably!
