New ad campaign

Just saw the new Giulietta ads. Says Vacuous Woman 1 to Vacuous Woman 2 - "Its not a car, its an Alfa Romeo". Cringe factor off the charts. Damn shame, when all they needed to do was put some images to a glorious Alfa mechanical soundtrack.

Perhaps the ad campaign should read:- Its not an Alfa Romeo its a car! It would cover all bases.

So I am puzzled what age or social bracket does one think such ads are targeting ? I only ask as the spread of ages I would have thought is represented here on the forum, let alone in terms of Alfa ownership. I quite enjoy the ads and yes I am slightly over 50.

If I was half my age with hair on my head ...  .......... that's right it was the 90's and no Alfas, lots of bad music and was still living in the 80's.  If you wanted to buy an Alfa you would scan the trading post or age classifides for a decent 2nd hand 105, 75 or 90 - depending on preference.

Now there are choices ... and isn't it fun !

Right, the ads have been running for a while now and I can hold my tongue no longer. Aaargh. Pitching Alfa as the choice of WAGS and hairstylists... No that's unfair. It reeks of "marketing consultant".

I may be a dinosaur, but surely I'm not alone. I reckon these ads are almost as cringeworthy as the Ricky Ponting deodorant ads.

But we are talking about the things that were advertised, and work associates have mentioned the adds to me, so people are thinking about the advertised product.
I would like to see an add of an Alfa Romeo going for a spirited run on a early sunday morning, but then all the 'speed kills' nannys would complain.
The only thing i am confused about is the reference that Nate dog made to a MILF, whats that?, a confused Colin.
