Alfa MX5 Club Sprint Challenge

Concept:  Friendly interclub sprint rivalry between the Alfa and MX5 clubs using regularity as the primary scoring method.  Breaking your nominated lap time will not impose a penalty, points are allocated according to how close you are to your nominated lap time.

Cars must comprise of the original make chassis and engine.

The challenge will be conducted over 4-5 (TBC) rounds of the AROCA Sprint competition, rounds will be announced.  Broadford (Jun), PI (July), Winton (Aug), Sandown? (Aug), PI (Nov), Broadford (Nov).

Each club will nominate 6 drivers for each round.  Each round should consist of different drivers from previous rounds.  Lady, novice and junior drivers are highly encouraged.  Last round may consist of previous drivers used.

Team composition:  6 drivers from each club have to be nominated 7 days prior to event date.

Session 1 of the event will be Practice for drivers to determine a nominated lap time to aim for.

Lap time nomination must be lodged before the commencement of your run in Session 2.
Revising your Lap time nomination for your subsequent runs (3 and 4) may be made after session 2 only if track condition changes or if you overly nominated your targeted lap time ie you are inexperienced.

Session 2, 3 and 4 will be the point score sessions.

Point score:
Following points will be allocated from nominated lap time:
+/- 0.000-0.500 sec (10 points)
+/- 0.501-1.000 sec (6 points)
+/- 1.001-1.500 sec (3 points)
+/- 1.501-2.000 sec (1 point),

Each driver's point score will be tallied; the top 5 scores will contribute to the round's point score for their club.  The point scores from the 5 rounds will be tallied and the club with the highest score wins the interclub challenge.

Presentation will be made at the end of the rounds over a few burnt sausages and a $5 trophy with lots of pride.
