Hi all
Anyone done any work to replace a leaking Diaphragm on a Dellorto Carbie. The part seems to be very cheap. But not sure if it is just a matter of 4 screws ??? Also does the Carbie need to be removed from Manifold.

thanks all in advance Drew

I have performed this job with the carbs on the car quite a few times by feel: it is a tricky job despite being just four screws. There is a spring above the diaphram that must be located and held in postion wile you put the screws through the casting, new diapragm and into the carb body. This is complicated by the fact that the diaphragm cover is attached to the throttle shaft by the actuation mechanism.... DO NOT adjust/undo this unless you have the equipment to reset the delivery rate! ???

You may drop the spring, or screws..... Assume they will dissapear into the most inaccesible spot in your engine bay/workshop.....  :'(

Generally, by the time the diapragm is leaking I reckon it is time to overhaul the carbs.

To replace just the diaphragms, I would take the carbs off the car (unbolt at the rubber isolators), hold right way up in a vice (if you invert them and there is a buildup of dirt in the carbs (in which case you should just overhaul them), what was once a nicely running car may start running like a pig) and replace the diapram/s in a way that you can see what you are doing.

I'm very intrigued in who you get to do it . And how much they charge.

Yeah I used to go see Lloyd a fair bit but I haven't seen him for around two years. That's a good price.
