HI everyone

My name is Kirk i am from toowoomba QLD.

I am a mechanic and auto-electrician. I am taking ownership of a mechanical workshop in toowoomba that has been specialising in bmc mini and Alfa Romeo. Actually they use to be the dealer for layland and Alfa back in the day.
I currently own a red alfasud.

I am enjoying working on Alfa Romeo. I have worked on all different models new models and older models.

Being an old dealer for BMC, [British Motor Corporation] and Alfa Romeo you would certainly know a thing or two about [bad] electrical systems, so what is worse Lucas or Magnetti Marrelli, or is that like saying Cancer or Aids?.
On the Sud, the electrical system is quite simple and easy to work on, its all those poor earths and undersize wires....don't get me started on those Sud combination switches!.

i would work on lucas all day long lol.
being Italian my self makes it easy with the Fiat and and Alfa gear. i just wish they would use a decent gauge of wire and learn how to use relays if they are going to cost cut using flimsily switching.

selespeed is the biggest headache now days.   

I will post pic's of the sud the fetta and Giulietta and the 33 wagon 4x4. please bear in mined they are all a work in progress.

My 156 has Lucas rear brake calipers and they work good......unlike German ATE calipers on the fronts of Suds, hard to get at with no hand brake, GRRR.
As discussed the other night with other Alfisti, with the older Alfa Romeo's, when you pull up at the lights at night, you cannot have lights and wipers, the wipers usually lose out and stop, until you take off and then they start working again, and most of the Italian relays cannot be replaced by Bosch due to different pin patterns, and the Italian relays seem to rust, due to lack of plating, Colin.

Yeah creativity is required to combat this problem. Once I have sorted a few things out.
I will share a few tricks.
