Airfilter breather hose

Hi guys, just a small one. The small hose coming off the top of the inlet manifold, is that mean to run to the small port in the base of the airfilter housing, the aluminium section?
The hose was just hanging off the inlet manifold, but it looks too short to run to the filter housing underneath.
It's only a small little hose, with about a 1/4 I.D.
