brook308

Primer just about all done, just need to do the front valance.
Pics are a bit average.

Ready for final primer coat.

brook308

Primer all done, guide coat on.
Off to a booth nearby for a dose of AR501 2 pac!

Had some trouble finding Alfa 501 in a solid so went for a Ford colour "Lemans Red" from 1990.
Spraying this weekend weather permitting.

Excellent job Brook308. Have an identical '80 GTV, can I park it next to yours during the paint job  ;D
82 GTV6 split-dash
80 Alfetta GTV

Final primer sanding, doing the large flat areas with a dry random sander. Will wet sand with 600 tomorrow morning where the dry sander can't get to.

Love your work ethic, George. All too easy to let the "just get it on the road and use it" project turn into the "multi year full resto maybe never get it finished" project. Speaking from experience of course.
Well done mate.

Thanks Pete,  recon this one will be on the road in two to three weeks, hoping for an alfa sympathetic rwc person.

I've got another 77 that will be the "multi year project" when the kids have all left home, although I hear they can hang around till they're 30!

Bit more radical though.

77 GTV shell
Rear floor removed
3.2 v6 or Lexus/Yamaha v8 mated to a transaxel mounted in the back (there was a 3.2 alfa gt at willow bank last weekend and the sound that thing made, wow)

Kind of like the giocattolo concept but 116 style rather than sud.

All red again. Decided to paint it myself in the end.

brook308

More red pics.

brook308

Now the fun of putting it all back together!

Great work George! You should bring it down to the Alfesta Show and Shine at Royal Pines on Easter Friday.

Cheers,
