Great work George! You should bring it down to the Alfesta Show and Shine at Royal Pines on Easter Friday.

Cheers,

Brent
Thanks Brent, sounds like a plan, still got the fun part of getting a RWC, there's a few items that need attention, mostly electrical.

How's the Sprint? Was it just a slipped cambelt or did valves meet pistons?

Simple fix with the Sprint George. It turned out to be a dodgy injector. I took it down to Automotion and Cameron had it fixed within half an hour. All injectors now replaced and I'll carry a couple of spares in the race kit.

i can't get to any AROCA sprint or race rounds now until the next Italian Challenge in May so I reckon I'll head down to Lakeside for the general practice on March 29. Hangin' to get some time behind the wheel. I might even have the Giulietta ready for that practice day!!

Cheers,

Brent

Good news,  re the sprint.

The 29th, might have to take the turbo out for a run, see if it can make more than three laps!

I'd be dead if another alfa turns up here. It's funny, the boys have all of a sudden become interested in the GTV now that its all one colour.

Got a bit done today,

Fitted the,
windows I had to move for rust repairs,
stainless trim,
door cards,
rear seat and carpet,
got the head lights tail lights working &
Fixed the horn switch.

Still to do,
Fix indicator switch, reverse light switch, wipers, install screen washer, replace lower ball joint, replace steering boot, install wing mirrors and replace rear vision mirror, fit rest of interior trim, fit stock carbies and air cleaner, check brakes and general service.

Like all my paint jobs they look ok from a distance.

Getting closer to RWC,

Reverse lamps working, was fuse carrier and dirty fuse,
Indicators, was the switch mech,
Put in a windscreen washer,
Put the wipers back on,
Fitted the original hell bore steering wheel

brook308

Ready for RWC, rego late next week with a bit of luck!

Hi Pete,

Yes RWC was all good, I think the mechanic was more interested in the mechanical layout of the alfetta than any thing else.
Motor, gearbox and clutch are all good, will need some suspension work though as she steers a bit like a boat. Don't think I'll be punting her round lakeside or up a hill fast just yet.
She sounds good though, little bit on the loud side but no worse than my old 308 and I never got pulled over in that car.
So mission accomplished I'm back on the road in an old italian car and it feels great.

You'll have to come to the creek for a visit next time your down this way.

Yes, my position as team manager might be in jeopardy with Warrens car almost catching on fire (some dodgy auto electric work), the role could open up to the market.  :)

Btw the gas axe has come out across the road, all I saw was bits of sunroof and panels all piled up on the ground, what was once an alfetta GTV may soon be a 3l v6 with a seat strapped to it!

Looks great! I've always liked the white wheel look, good job.
Now:
'84 GTV
'12 Nissan Navara D22

Then:
'83 Giulietta ('01-'06)

Medium Capricciosa for me lol.

Just want to say well done on your project, she looks a million bucks, enjoy!

Great colour choice and l also like the traditional Alfa racing look with the white rims.

Cheers
