Hi,

Im about to purchase a 2005-2009 alfa 147, but cannot find anywhere the differences in specs of the variants of the 147.

Specifically, what is the difference of a "selespeed" model, compared to "selespeed Ti" and "selespeed twin spark"?

These are the variants as listed on carsales, so may not be fully right.

Thanks!

Robert. Dale

All 2.0Ltr 147's use the same 4 Cylinder Twin Spark Motor, there was a slight body update in 2005.

The trim levels did change slightly over the years.

All Selespeeds were fitted with 16" Wheels 55 Profile tyres except for the TI Model which were fitted with 17" Wheels with lower profile tyres and a slightly lower and stiffer suspension setup.

The TI models also all have Leather Seats which are slightly upmarket and more visually pleasing than the Std Leather Seats.

Cheers Rob

Thanks for the reply!

So leave aside the "twinspark" variant as all models have that engine type.

So the only difference between Ti and non-Ti is the wheel size and leather trim? Is there anything else?

Ive seen some cars advertised as "selespeed" (not Ti) yet have the larger wheels and leather trim, so would you asusme it was a factory upgrade when new?

Cheers

Yep, the Ti had firmer suspension.  About 15% firmer I was told by an Alfa specialist.

It made the car a real tourer at speed on highways and freeways. A real gem in the country !

But a bit bumpy on low grade suburban roads and could be quite annoying around town.

So it depends what you want and where you live.

Cheers

Correct me if I am incorrect.

Non-Ti comes in 3 and 5 doors.

Ti are only 3 doors.

Ti also had its own wheel styling in 17".

alfamisa

Correct Ti had 17" Toora wheel and MY05 (11/2004 build onwards) non Ti had 17" Supersport, later they went to 18" on "Monza" models.

Ti also had a rear spoiler (top of hatch) that can't be swapped with 5 door models (without changing the rear screen).

All MY05 models had a significant facelift (156,159 family 6 lights front) and larger rear taillights, bumper less rubber strips and revised suspension to suit the 17" wheels.

Interior on Ti was black leather seats and black headlining. Non Ti had light grey headlining and various leather colors (tan/red/black) but MY05 also updated to same door card inserts as seats.

The badging on original 2.0 Twin Sparks cars was Ti, T-Spark, Selespeed.

The Alfa Romeo heritage "rinascimento" (renaissance) continues in each and every new model...the first "rinascimento" being 1915.

Did the 'TI' also have gold colored Alfa Romeo badges?, Colin.

ColCol, what kind of question is that ?

I assume you are refering to the faded variety !
