Window Auto Close

Hey guys

Anyone know of any possible aftermarket solutions for a Window Auto Close function when locking up a 2004 Facelift 156?

I've seen some ODB2 attachments but were designed for other makes and models.

Is the central lock standard or do you have an aftermarket alarm? I know the 147s have a not so well known feature in the key fob , whereby you hold the lock or open button and the windows activate.

I actually thought that the final version of the 156 had auto close windows as standard,.....because a freind who has one, complains he can't crack the windows down on a hot day, to let some air in while he is parked, because the minute he locks it,.....up goes the windows, maybe he has a kit installed on his for window closing, some alarms have this feature in them.
Series 1, 147's have a pretty cool feature, that press one of the remote buttons for 5 seconds, and all the windows go down, great for cooling you down 5 minutes before you get in the car, then press remote button again, for 5 seconds and all the windows go up, series 2, 147's didn't have this great feature, [Fiat saving money, to save up and buy Chrysler], Colin.

Central lock on my 156 is standard.

I read about the Auto Window Close function for the 147 and how the functionality defers depending on what series or year the 147 was manufactured (OH&S standards).

But couldn't find anything regarding the 156.

Ok, well it comes down to how you want to tackle it then DIY or pay for install. You can get an auto window closer of eBay for about $20 and wire it into the central lock/immobiliser function of the car or get an install quote from an alarm/radio installer. I'd imagine an installed module to be about $200 all up, but I seem to have a habit of under estimating these costs to what I believe it should be.

'Auto window closer' search on eBay brings up a few. The link is for a module at $12 delivered.

Interestingly enough I came across the obd units you mentioned. Couldn't find an Alfa module, but they would certainly have been an easier install. Just plug and play, pity.

Once you obtain the module, you'll need a wiring schematic and some study as to how to best wire the module. Or, hand the module to an installer. I've purchased a local module once from jaycar, which wouldn't work properly and no different to the eBay items  only the jaycar module had a trim adjustment which I believe was causing problems and unnecessary. Both had the same instructions in "Ingrish" but the eBay item worked.

Here's the instal schematic for the units that come from ebay in ingrish. Fairly simple to install if you are confident in auto electrics. You'll see its just a matter of hooking it up to the central locking system and power window wiring to trigger the module to close the windows.

I'll keep looking, as a window down feature would also be good in our climate. I'm sure there out there.
