Hi all - going to reinstall the electric mirror switch and also install a bluetooth radio/receiver into my '82 GTV. The wiring at the back of the centre console currently looks like the attached photo. The four point male connector has two yellow wires, one light blue wire and a red wire. I assume this is the connector that attaches to the electric mirror wiring. One of the yellow wires has that wierd looking white plastic fitting...no idea why..and it isn't connected to anything. Whilst the light blue wire is also unconnected. I guess both of these were once connected to the black 6-pin female plug that I assume connects to the electric mirror switch.

Going into this black connector is another unconnected red "hot" wire that carries 12V with the ignition off. I put white electrical tape around the end to insulate it for now. Perhaps this was a fused power source for the factory radio a long time ago? There's also a black wire going under the carpet...a ground for the radio perhaps?

I don't have a wiring diagram for the car, hence any suggestions are welcome.

QuoteI am trying to workout what the four pin connector is for?

Found this on the AlfaBB site:

For single mirror cars, from what I can decipher (my copy is a print of a pdf of a scan) the mirror switch should have five wires emanating from it:

Yellow/black = power, after connector is two red wires, one to fusebox, one to radio
Sky blue/black,
Sky blue,
Yellow = all go to mirror motor, via two double connector blocks
Black = Earth
The fourth space in the blocks I mentioned above is the earth for the mirror motor, and is also black.

Below is an annotated jpeg of the diagram for cars with two mirrors. As you can see, there are six wires from the mirror switch.
