Got pulled over by a motorcycle cop! Believe it or not It went very well, no ticket! I was in the Alfa 33 on Club Permit plates. LOG book in order and a friendly chat followed on classic cars and motorbikes. I was still carrying the car racing numbers from the weekend hill climb at MG inter club challenge at Rob Roy. he confirmed that despite what some people say Motorsport decals is AOK!

So has any one got images of the best looking livery on a racing Alfa? Looking for ideas!

Anyone see the Jaegermeister Alfa105 from UK recently?

When you have all the racing numbers on, you are saying to the authorities, look at my road car that has been modified for racing, its got 'R' spec tyres or worn down road tyres and the pollution equipment has been removed, back in the day we had numbers that were held on by electrical tape that was quickly removed for the drive home, Colin.

These days, you see lots of cars with race numbers still on the side of car, running around on the road, they normally have an 8 or 10 digit race number.

11, for Larry Perkins, nice and simple and easy to cut out, 05 for Peter Brock for his part in the anti drink and drive campaign, Ferrari Formula 1 used to use 27+28, Alfa Romeo 155 Super Tourer used 55, Craig Lowndes uses 888 for triple eight engineering, but this year Formula 1 drivers can pick their own numbers from 2 - 99, to use during their Formula 1 career, Colin.
