Hoists go quite cheap at auctions, problem is you need the room to fit one with a high roof garage, i need a lift more than anyone as my gut won't fit under the car, most jobs under the car can be done with a good high quality garage jack and good solid chassis stands, just a bit of stuffing around lifting the car, Colin.

I'm with you Col.Col when it comes to having a sexy car but a big gut that get in the way of getting under the car, and last time I checked, my 156 was significantly lower than yours 

I wouldn't mind getting something like this for my garage though:


Units like these start around the $2k mark, and you don't need a high ceiling as it's only a mid rise. Don't get me wrong, would love the ability to actually stand under my car, but the mid rise is a significant improvement on the highest setting on standard axel stands
