Qld Alfa fans, I just made the 3400km round trip to Bendigo to pick up a race car from AROCA Victoria member Jim Nielsen. It was quite the journey. Here's a pic of the car on the trailer behind my father's Cruiser.

Thanks lads. I'm itching to get out to the track to give it a shakedown. I hope to take it out to QR on Friday for a   practice run. I'm sure it will take me at least a year to get to a point where I can drive this car to its potential. I will keep you all posted on my progress.

Thats an awsome looking car. Whats happening with the 75? Also just a question about the sprints, is there another way to put a fire extinguisher in a car without putting holes in the floor to bolt it in?

i know some car clubs in Vic used to sell a metal strap or bracket that was pre-drilled to fit accross the 2 x rear front passenger seat bolts with holes for an extinguisher mount to be attached.  That way it was hard mounted to meet regs but didnt require new holes in an otherwise pristine road car. Just unbolt the 2 x rear front passenger seat bolts, fit the bracket and bot the seat back up.  Then attache the extinguisher bracket to this new metal strap.

I'm going to put a new crankcase seal and a new set of brake pads onto the twinspark and more than likely advertise it for sale in the June edition of the club mag. I want to make sure that whoever buys it can just get in and race it without having to do a thing (maybe just adjust the seat and mirrors!)

Thanks Edward ill look into that. Well Brent i think i might be one of the first to look at your car, i wanted a twinspark but couldnt find one at the time and then i bought another GTV6 to race but i might sell it. It would be good to have a race prepared car. What kind of money would you be after for the twinnie?

Sorry to see the car leave Vic but hope you have a lot of fun in it.

Scott,

Thanks for the words of encouragement mate. It's good to read such an enthusiastic endorsement for the purchase from an experienced racer. Who knows, perhaps if the East Coast Challenge in September goes well in NSW we could run the event in Victoria next year. That way I'd have a good excuse to bring the car formerly known as Custard back to its home state.
