I have oil sitting where the spark plugs are and a fair bit too

I have taken the plugs out cleaned the heap of oil but now the car is running abit hotter then usual


If anyone has advice to helps out I'd appreciate it thanks

alfa3331.7. A build up of oil around the spark plugs, towards the front of the head, could be oil leaking from the oil filler cap. From my experience this is a common problem with NORD engines. To fix, tighten the oil filler cap by pushing the two tabs down a little using multigrips. This will increase the pressure of the oil filler cap. Clean the oil from around the plug holes and check every other day. Might require a couple of goes to get the right pressure on the cap. Check other hose clamps as well. Good luck. Barry

Hi guys quick update oil cap is firm and in tight

I checked this morning the spark plugs are full of oil even where the ht leads sit there is oil there

But there Dosent seem to be a leak from the rocker cover down to the head

Next I'll be changing the rocker cover hopefully it will sort it out

check your breather system also for blockages.

There's a limited amount of seals where oil sepage can eminate from. As mentioned you have your oil cap and rocker gasket, don't forget the cover bolts should also have gaskets. Crankcase ventilation will build pressure up and force oil past gaskets so again as already mentioned make sure that system is clear of blockage. Very worst case scenario you could have a hairline fracture, but it's odd that you can't track the sepage. Sounds like you've given it all a clean now, so maybe throw some talcum powder or chalk dust to see if that gives you a visible track for the oil?
Are you getting spark at that plug? How's compression for that piston?
You could have a culmination of oil getting past the rings or the valve guides, and the spark plug not completely sealing? Just brain storming here.
Perhaps after cleaning that dirt plug, all four plugs were now working, hence a temp rise.
You didn't mention any weirdness with plug removal, but it could have been cross threaded. Maybe check that this hasn't occurred.

Quick update guys

Cleaned the plugs and a few hours later oil has filled up in cyclinder 2 and 4 with the temperature once again slightly rising but not much around 90 95*^

I do need my rocker gasket replaced as there is evidence of a little leak but nothing too crazy and there are no traces of oil leaking from the rocker into where the Sparks are so hmmmmm

I have rob at manning motors working on it tomorow so hopefully he can work his 105 Nord magic and get my Alfetta breathing circulating and driving like an Alfa is supposed to

Issue was all fixed was just the rocker cover rob at manning motors got it all sorted out and took care of me with a quick carby tune / adjustment it is a very difficult engine to get running smooth due to the excessive over the top cams :/ runs like shit in the low rpm up high it roars
