i have a noise alfa romeo tapping sound in my engine car misses when reved any idea

noise it sounds like it is coming from overhead cam  and has a miss

I gather it is the 156 as per other post.

Following Colin, take your car to an Alfa Romeo Specilaist and get it checked out.  There could be a number of things required or service/belt change due.  Then you can assess what is urgent etc.

More info is required but a rattly "diesel" noise indicates that the variator is should be changed. A lot of perle skip that when changing the belt and few change the belt with the additional bearing kit.
