I had a spare tailshaft at home that has been lying around for a while, so I decided to pull it apart and see what sort of condition it was. Turns out most of it was reusable except for the front and rear guibos and the centre bearing. Replaced the bearing ($13 from BSC) and put it all back together but I made one major flaw. I didn't mark the relationship between the front section and the fork when I dissembled i.e. the centre support with bearing slides on followed by the fork. Should the fork be 90 degrees opposed to the other (fixed) side of the front half or equal? I tried equal but no matter which spline I rotate to it is always about 5mm out from square.

The rear half has not been pulled apart and both forks are in alignment which is why I have been trying to do the same with the front.

Thanks
