aircon regassed, fuel usage dropped

Hi everyone, I had my aircon regassed last week and ever since my fuel usage has been dropping from 8.2L/100k down to 7.6L in my 2002 156 JTS, is it possible the regass could have had this affect?

Yes and no, with a full charge of gas, the compressor will be switched off longer, not draining the power from the engine, but with gas to compress, it will work harder during on cycles.
With low gas, the compressor will be on longer, but with little gas to compress, it won't be working as hard, draining less power.
Best you have it gassed up, so thats its pumping less time, not wearing out the pistons in the compressor.
Hope you got it vacumned down correctly and a new receivor drier installed, Colin.
