I had the Alfa out for its sadly one and only Rally for the year on November 22.  It was a trying day, 37deg heat, but we kept on keeping on.  Temperatures remained stable all day.  Towards night started to suffer from issues with mis-firing.  One thing to do over Christmas break is to upgrade to newer style high impedance injectors, which will dramatically lower the current required to operate them.  It seems now that the Haltech does not like the current load and has a protection mode it uses.  Suitable fuel rails will be a challenge.  Finished overall 18th out of 43 starters, managed to pull back from time and pass the guy ahead of my by night.  Which was pleasing given the mis-firing issues.

Looking for further upgrades now to suspension, to handle rougher parts of roads a little better.  One day also looking for slightly better gearing.  A lower third gear would come in handy on the hills around Imbil.  Might be able to accelerate not just lug up them.  Pretty stoked, had a great weekend apart from the early heat, and can't wait to get back out again next year.

Great to see, how many other alfa's are being rallied in Qld?
I know Richard Anderson runs his 75 and GTV but I can't recall too many others.
My sons are making a start with a 2l gtv we're taking to hirstglen this weekend for our second khanacross.

There have been a few come and go over the years.  Richard is about the only one who is also around.  He brings the 75 and the GTV out on selected occasions.

The GTV6 does draw some comment, it is certainly novel.  The standing joke when I turn up is "what you still going".  Hah hah.  Then of course at the end of an event, I get the Top Gear top tip, "The worst car here is the best car here"

Anyone can drive a Datsun.  I am running an introductory rally at Jimna on Feb 14 next year.  If your sons or you want to make a start into the forest they can.  About 25km, average speed runs ahead of the main field.
