Currently getting a set of Minilites from England 700 pounds (550 pounds for 4 rims, 4 stud, pcd 108, custom offset and includes 60 pounds for custom colour - gun metal or anthracite, with 16 wheel nuts, and 150 pounds airfreight) but trying to work out the correct size for the centre hole.    I have measured the "spigot" of hub at about 63.9mm (hard to do with it on car as the studs get in the way) is this correct?  If so - how big does the centrebore on the wheel rim have to be to fit on the car correctly?  Minilite is saying 65.1mm is what they usually do.  The supplier has a database that says 63.4mm which seems to be incorrect.  What puzzles me more is that all the alloy wheels I have currently have a bevelled or chamfered edge there in the centre and so wouldn't be locating on the spigot at all I wouldn't think?!

The other two attachments couldn't fit them on first post.

Hi Andrew

I did send you details via an e-mail about the centre hole dimention, the same day.
Maybe I sent it to myself as usual.
Will check tomorrow

Make sure you measure the rear axle spigot, its bigger than the front hub "spigot" not that the front hub really has much of one, at least it is on my car, but i have mixed up uprights and hubs from other cars, but worth checking
72' 105 2000 GTV Red (tarmac rally/race car)
74' 105 2000 GTV Blue (road car)
68' 105 1600 Giulia Super White (Not sure yet)
01' Nissan Pathfinder (Tow car/Alfa support vehicle)

Rear spigot is very definitly different on a 2l - big enough that wheels for an escort won't fit properly (same PCD).
My wheels sat the spigot inside the chamfer - when I thinned the disc to fix the rear wheels rubbing, I had to open up the counterbore on the wheels.

2011 DBA catalogue lists the rear spigot as 70mm (well, lists the hole in the disc, and the spigot is a straight diameter there).

Ok all is becoming clear - the rear spigot is much larger at about 69.8mm - so hence the 70mm size for the centrebore (wheel hole eg the standard steel rims) as quoted by others (Sorry Rob - et al) is correct then.  Much easier to measure as well.

Puzzled as to why the front and rear would have different spigot sizes.  Trust me to start at the wrong end of the car.

Evidently minilites are usually done with 63.4 centrebore which is the Ford size (escort etc?) and the Peugeot at 65.1 (both pcd 108) - so I'm told by supplier I'm talking with.  http://www.tyresave.co.uk/alloyclc.html

Because they were never really intended to be hubcentric...

Hi Andrew.

Did my e-mail from last Friday say 70mm,,as measured of an original steel wheel fitted to both front and back to make sure ?

I should start charging a fee of a can of Pepsi for all the people who ask and see your broken wheel Andrew.Looking at it still upsets me

Hi Rob,

Sorry to have doubted - I hadn't realised the front was different to the back and your answer didn't make sense to me.   But now that I know the back is larger, 70 mm makes sense now.  Seeing is beleiving, but all the wheels I have cover the centre.  Sorry Sensei was grokking for understanding.

thanks andrew.
