I actually chatted (online, so it could have actually been a hot 18 year old cheerleader) to the chap who used to own the car.  It has a 3.0 24V, with some serious money spent on it.

Hmn not sure about us all down being 90s fans but rather the idea of (a) a howling wolf (the V6 noise) in a sheeps clothes and (b) the sound of the V6 revving out.   

There is a guy down here in Hobart who has such a beast, my former '76 Alfetta 1.8 sedan but fitted with a 90 2.5 V6 and running gear.  From the outside it just looks like an immaculate dark blue Alfetta, with some nice 5 star Italian wheels and it sits lower.  Its not until he takes off you realise what is under the bonnet, especially with the 2 inch exhaust. Plans are to fit a 3 L 24v sometime in the future.  Now that would be interesting.
