Distributor for group s alfetta gtv?

Can anyone provide details on the distributors used in group s alfas? I have seen three group s alfas and all three were running distributors with scorcher ignition stickers on them and they looked different to the Bosch and marelli distributors I have. The coils on all three also looked like those used with electronic ignition.

Gudday Lindsay,

No idea about Group S but if no-one gives you an answer here  it might be worth talking to Performance Ignition http://www.performanceignition.com.au. The distributor in my Sud race car was tested and tweaked by them for a better advance. It also now has one of those scorcher stickers on it...

Conversion to electronic ignition is allowed in Sb and Sc, so I assume that's what is done.

I've heard that the dizzy can be non points type as long as only one wire connects to it. I think that means a number of wires in a thin sheath.

Thanks Evan and John, that's the information I was after. I have spoken to performance ignition but I wanted to make sure the car was still group s legal. Group sc and sb are part of group s I think, kind of like group na nb and nc for historic touring cars.

Thanks hmd. I now understand electronic ignition is ok but must look factory and not have electronically adjustable advance curve.
