Hi guys,

I just thought I would introduce myself to the group.
I've been looking through the forums for a while, but never actually posted anything.
I love spending my spare time working on my cars and learning all I can about them.
My current project is a 1974 105 GTV 2000. It was in a bit of a rough state when I started work on it, but it is almost ready for the road now. The body is in good condition, it just needed mechanical work and some TLC. Just waiting for the wheels to come back from the rim restorers.

Cheers
Kenny

Hi Kenny, welcome to the forum. Would like to see some photo of your project in due course and naturally like to see you and your car at a club event in the near future.

Welcome Kenny.... Sounds like a nice GTV!

As Barry mentioned throw some pics up when you get a chance and give us some more details (colour, trim , your plans etc.).

Also, saw your ad in the wanted to buy section.

That centre is not correct for a 74' GTV. I mean you can put whatever you want but they came out with this type with the black & white centre badge,

Very late ones came with those centres.  They were on some GTVs and not only 75 and 76 Spiders

Thanks guys.

Yes. I have been trying to find if the centers are correct for the model year.
I have seen those centers in ClassicAlfa and that got me questioning if they were right.
The plate says 12/1974.

I'll post some photos shortly.

Here are some photos. I must say I haven't actually taken many of the actual car yet.
Its a December 1974 105 2000 GTV.
I believe the colour is Dutch blue and has a cream interior.
Seeing it had been under a cover for so long the interior is in quite good condition.

So far the work performed on the car is as follows.
- Repainted rims
- New tyres
- New Grille
- Polished headlight surrounds
- Flushed and painted radiator
- All new coolant hoses
- New water pump
- New exhaust system
- All new rubber seals
- New heater valve
- New front and rear brake discs
- New brake hoses.
- Rebuilt calipers and boosters. Plated in gold zinc
- New speedo and tach cables. Fire jacked installed around the speedo cable.
- New engine mounts
- upgraded the dizzy to electric and new coil
- New leads and spark plugs
- New front and rear sway bar bushes. (Painted the sway bars)
- All new fluids and filters
- New carburettor mounts
- Rebuilt carburettors

I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Just waiting for the rims to come back from

Where'd you get the zinc done (and cost too if that's okay)
Looks lovely :)

Hi Craig,

I got the brakes restored at a place called
NBS Brakes in Sheppearton. They have a local drop off in Melbourne.
I have used them before and they do an amazing job. They have also rebuilt the Bonaldi boosters in the past.

I can't remember the exact cost. I will locate the receipt when i'm home.

Kenny,

Nice car. I like that blue with the light coloured interior. I have a 6/74 Ruby coloured coupe with the same interior.

I notice that your car has the extra chrome wheel dress ring on the rims. Mine had those too .... obviously a local dealer fit. Do you know what dealer sold the car?

Anyway, noticed these on ebay today..... might be what you are after,

Good luck with the car, gotta do some simialr work to mine (brakes, MC, lines etc) and probably boosters too...

Cheers.

Thanks. I do like the Blue/Tan combination.

Yes. From looking at photos and articles on the GTV, I came to the conclusion that the rings were not factory fitted. I don't know what dealer it came from to be honest.

Thanks for the heads up on ebay. That is exactly what I need. I'll watch them closely.

Yeah I'm hoping for a big boost in brake performance. The boosters were not working at all before I did all the work on it.
