Hello
My '81 Sud Super was leaking oil from the engine sump gasket.Because I didn't have car stands/ramps I paid a mechanic to replace the gasket. It still leaks oil from around the gasket.I forgot to tell the mechanic that the parts supplier had told me the gasket should be installed 'dry' without gasket glue.He used gasket glue and may also have overfilled the engine with oil.I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can finally fix this problem.Could the use of gasket glue and overfilling with oil be the cause of this problem?

there is a sud section below they havce it all worked out in particular Col Col
the sumps from memory are a tin type and are prone to twist and worse still
overtightening will squeeze it out further
easier to start again ( not Hard)
ps check your dip stick to see if its over full

Have previously used after market sump gaskets and they leak immediately when fitted as are too thin. The factory gasket is quite 'thick' and if careful, can tighten on the thin tin sump lips and make leak free! Mine has been dry for 8 years now.

Problem is you have to search to find NOS parts.

All the best
