Hello All

I have a 2008 JTD with 1.9 ltr . On the way home I lost acceleration. It will go in real hi revs then it will kick in but when I slow down it goes dead again and then it get up to the correct speed. I didnt have any warning lights or nothing. I drive on the highway about 115 k to work and back. Any suggestions would be great thanks

You haven't provided much detail and what you have written doesn't really make much sense but I think what I can make of it you are saying you have no power until the turbo spools up then it has a little more grunt but still underpowered?

There are a few things to look at, it could be related to one or a combination of several things.

-EGR Valve
-Turbocharger (including plumbing possible to have a leak or split hose)
-Intake problems, which could be numerous issues such as a blocked air filter, faulty AFM, or clogging in the intake manifold, gunk on the butterfly (yes these diesels do have a throttle body), or a fault with the swirl flaps inside the intake manifold.
-Particulate Filter clogging (maybe unlikely if you do a lot of highway driving)

If you are mechanically minded, you'll be able to use that info to get you started on the right track.
If you aren't mechanically minded, my best suggestion for you is to take your car to an Alfa Romeo Specialist and have them diagnose the problem before you potentially cause damage to the engine.
