Walter de Silva is now officially the new president of Italdesign Giugiaro.
The appointment comes after the departure of Giorgetto Giugiaro occured last July.
Giugiaro founder of Italdesign, on July 2nd sold the remaining shares it held in its power to join the group in 2010, while assigned all positions, including the presidency of honor.
The chief designer of the Volkswagon Group will take the place of Giorgetto Giugiaro who in July this year, left the company he founded, De Silva was allready present in the organisation of the company and was collaborator of former presidency of Italdesign.
Walter da Silva does not need any introductions, as it is well known in the automotive world, responsible for the design of dozens of cars, not only high end luxury cars, but head turners such as Alfa Romeo cars, such as 147 and 156.
De Silva arrived at Volkswagon in 1999 and was responsible for the design of various German cars such as Audi A5 and the new Volkswagon Beetle, Polo, Passat and others.
De Silva left Central Style after the 147 in the early 2,000's to join the Spanish arm of Volkswagon, SEAT and went on to head the styling of Volkswagons and Audis.
