I know I need to get a manual but for the short term I need some direction.  I have mixed up the spark plug leads and have a 1 in 24 of getting it right. I know the firing order is 1324 however that is all I know.

Looking from the front of the car how are the cylinders labelled.

Back left     ?      Back Right    ?
Front left     ?     Front Right   ?

And for the distributor we have the leads at approximately 10 o'clock  2 o'clock  4 o'clock and 8 o'clock

So just as an example cylinder 1 back left  goes to 10 o'clock.

.... it's cast (written) on the block. Ignore the red circle, look at the edge of the block, near the heads.

I have done this too often, so i now mark the distributor and spark plug leads with their numbers.
Sometimes when you get new spark plug leads, they are slightly different in length to the old ones which is confusing.
Some parts catalogues have the Alfasud and 33 leads as the same, this is incorrect, the coil lead for the 33 goes on the left hand side inner mud gaurd, on the Sud it lives up near the battery, so you need different coil plug leads, although the spark plug leads are the same, Colin.
