For all you night owls out there , in Melbourne anyway . SBS is repeating at 11.00pm tonight  the Italian Crime series " Romanzo Criminale". Series is about a  criminal heroin gang in Rome in the 1970's. Lots of Alfa's etc . Somewhere in the series is a scene where someone gets shot in the back of a Guilia Super. The mess it makes of the head lining and interior would be enough to  make local super owners   Barry Edmunds & Tony Raditsis cry.

The first few episodes are full of fantastic italian motors, and has a couple of great chase scenes involving police Giulias. The Lancia Fulvia HF driven by Dandy is an absolute peach.

Would have been fantastic to be on the set, just to see them round up so many old Fiats, Alfas and Lancias as background.

Sadly, as the chief crooks make more money they upgrade to far less interesting rides - eg 911 and XJS cabrio.
Now:    2002 156 GTA
            1981 GTV
Before: 1999 156 V6 Q-auto

Italian Supermodel

Watched first two episodes this evening.
Great entertainment , and yes not for the feint hearted.
I haven't heard such a colourful barrage of cursing around Alfas since my visits to Milano Motors over the past twenty years!
Love you Marco....

Here are the "making of" series 1 & 2 for some insight WARNING violent.

The original movie in 2005 sparked the two series of 22 episodes. (edit PS the first 4 episodes so far are on SBS On Demand) See poster;

FYI here is the original movie & poster;

Of course none of this helps if you don't speak Italiano ;) Ciao

PS Here is what the violent side of Milano was like in 1968...the Polizia not only had Giulia's but needed the Alfa 2600 Sprint to give chase!

The Alfa Romeo heritage "rinascimento" (renaissance) continues in each and every new model...the first "rinascimento" being 1915.

I've got season 1 & 2 on DVD. The girl I think her name is daniela is super fine.

This show is wonderful.  Beautiful SL Pagoda last week for the inevitable kidnap victim.

The good news is that the Polizia really are going back to driving Alfas (Giuliettas).
