giulia versus tesla

On paper they look similiar except on an Autostrada after 300km the Alfa is still going whilst the Tesla is at Maccas charging up
Sadly as much as i love the roar of these Green house gas monsters maybe the future is here
has anyone actually measured the coal needed to power one of these up
it is quite relevant because if I remember my Physics well nothing created nothing destroyed
and power in is power out ( in a frictionless world)
so how much green house gas is needed to power the tesla or the giulia ?
8 litre of petrol gets you 100km in the giulia  So how much coal is needed to charge the Tesla to go 100km with headlights on a/c on and even wipers , we are talking about 2 cars with very similar acceleration figures
in France a different story they have Nuclear power from Australian yellow cake
ill save that argument for later

Carlo, you are forgetting to also factor in the noxious cloud of "smug" that usually follows every electric/hybrid car owner, and is almost impossible not to gag on...

to fill a Tesla to do a 400km journey  with headlights on
is $27 ( 90kw battery at $0.25 per kw) in electricity and rising
my V8 Jag does the same distance in $37.80
the alfa does it in $40
roughly $2.50 per 100 km more
or $500 a year more @20,000km pa
so to get any benefit from a tesla for GReen value
my Great grandchildren will be driving the same car to pay it off
also as these supposed green cars get more popular
petrol should get cheaper or plateau(heres hoping)
and electricity well imagine if you get a blackout or a storm or worse you didnt pay the bill on time
and then imagine the canvassing calls
if you filled up once aweek and your was original light bill was $500 a quarter before thats going up to around $800 per quarter
you will have get plan B out
