Hi Folks,

I have just bought another Alfa, and the missus is eager for me to move my GTV on to a new home. I don't really have the garage space, but will happily keep her (I mean the car !!) if no-one is interested. And I will be able to tell the missus I tried ...

Anyway, some of you will know the story of this car - I was sold a lot of hot air about what had been done to it before I purchased it, and paid the price - literally.

But that means anyone who does buy it gets the benefit of the mechanical work done over the last year.

I have documented receipts for ~$12k of work carried out over the last 12 months including: gearbox dismantled and refurbished (couple of new gears and synchro rings), all drive shaft donuts replaced, new suspension bushings installed, new front brake discs fitted, exhaust manifold replaced, alternator overhauled, radiator/cooling hoses replaced, new water pump installed, new coil fitted, replaced mechanical points with electronic ignition. There is more, but they are the main items.

The car is pretty straight body-wise with minimal rust (a past owner has used some filler on the shoulders beneath rear side windows, and below the rear number plate, and it has a couple of spots of superficial surface rust). But it is a pretty solid platform for someone wanting to do a full resto or wanting to make a track car. Or it could continue to be used as daily driver as I have been using it - its typical 20-footer: looks great from that distance, you only see the imperfections up close. Is painted GMH Turbine Grey which is really a metallic green-grey colour, the original colour was silver.

Interior is tidy, with non-original black cloth trim. Was originally beige velour, and I have the original door cards which could be freshened up. Electric sunroof works and doesn't leak. Electric mirror doesn't work, but I have a replacement wiring loop and switch to be installed. Aircon doesn't work. Needs relays fitted to overcome the usual GTV electrical drain from the ignition, headlamps etc all running off the same one.

Mechanically, it has twin 45mm Webers fitted, but it has stock cams, so the Webers really don't provide the benefit they should. I have an original set of 40mm Dellortos ready to be installed, or a new owner could take the next step and make the necessary mods to suit the Webers.

Sports exhaust is loud - I love the way it barks, but the missus doesn't.

The car is wearing very tasty 15x6 Simmons wheels, but I have a full set of the original Alfa alloys to go with the car.

I'm not crazy enough to think I can get back what I have spent unless I sit on the car for another 5-10 years - which is an open option if I can get it past her indoors. But I will consider offers around $5500. Please PM me if you are interested.

One more pic showing interior.

And to reiterate - I love this car, and know I will regret selling it down the track. But if someone makes me an offer I can't refuse, so be it...
