V6 Front Pulley Nut

Just contemplating stripping down a couple of spare engines prior to rebuild.  I gather the front pulley nut can be really tight and the front pulley hard to get off.  Once you peen the staking out.  Anyone got any sure fire clues as to getting these apart?  Is it as bad as sometimes made out?

Cheers for that, I have a 1/2" electric rattle gun, but better see if I can borrow a 3/4" drive one.
