Thanks GTV,
I was quoted $1500 to touch up some body work(mates rates),so I slowly did the work myself learning as I went along.$120 in materials.
I bought the car without 8 steel outer trim strips. I was offered replacements from a second hand place for a cool $400. A week later a 78' gtv wreck provided me the bits needed as long as I removed them. Took about an hour of careful work....$30!
Alfamen replaced the three propeller shaft guibos last year.Matthew suggested putting on compatible BMW ones. Great job, no balancing of prop, and half the price.
So I'm pleased I've had the time with limited funds to get these things done and have her back on the road with my personal imput.

I'm inspired; got to get on with mine....

Hi all ,  I'm curious to know about other club permit registration holder's experience with compliance.
The fifth day I drove the gt on permit cruising along mid week 9.30am police shot up behind me from nowhere and lit me up. The log book was requested immediately , followed by license and a breath sample. The senior Sargeant knew his Italian cars with twin cam engines and cast a keen eye over the car. After a short chat they headed off possibly somewhat disappointed that I was squeaky clean.Bit of an anti climax almost, even for me!
I mentioned this to a friend who has had up to 10 permit cars over the past five years and has not once been stopped, ever.
