Alpha spider 1999 millenium

Help

The window mechanism on my spider has packed up - with the window all the way down of course!!

I am having trouble finding a new one as they are discontinued.   How difficult is it to adapt the later one with the micro switch to drop the window??? 

I have been told its just a case of swapping the arms over and removing the switch  - has anyone done this??
