159 Radiator hoses

Hi All, I've previously posted this request for help, maybe it was in the wrong place. Has anybody ever fitted new rad hoses to a 159 2.2? If so please share the details:
"The prompt for joining the AR forum was that I have coolant weeping, in the tiniest amount, from the rad hoses at the clamps. Not much of a concern at this point and the original hoses are sound.
However, I want to buy hoses but not at AR's extortionate prices. Neither McKay nor Gates sell them!

Sorry no-one has been able to help you so far Jim. Not sure who specifically you should ask in SA, but here in Perth I usually rely on they guys at the specialist Italian car workshop I always use to source any required parts (independent workshop, not part of any dealership).

I'm sure there would be an equivalent workshop in Adelaide.

I'm not sure what you consider to be exorbitant AR prices, but I just had a couple of oil cooler hoses in my 156 replaced by the aforementioned workshop and the purchase price of the two hoses was $48 each.

But there are loads of online suppliers people on here use all the time (like EB Spares in the UK and www.italianautomotivespares.com.au).

I'd just jump on ebay and have a hunt around. You are bound to find what you want at a price you think is reasonable.

Hoses $150- each, which I think is ridiculous. Although the hoses are sound the car is 9 yo, I would just change them now if the were reasonably priced. I've tried various alternative suppliers in Adel. to no avail. Ive been reluctant to order on line, hence my dilemma. JimB

Given its not urgent, I'd definitely recommend online purchase. You should be able to find exactly what you want, and then a couple of weeks later, when you've forgotten about, you receive a surprise delivery.

If you purchase online through reputable platform you can usually track where in transit your item is anytime prior to delivery.

I had my hoses fail only months after an end of warranty inspection; certainly before the next scheduled service.

Are Aeroquip hoses good in this application?

Curiosity begs the question, what actually failed, of the hose assemblies?
