Diminishing Alfa dealer's in sydney

Noticed Alfa has given the big boot to 2 dealers in sydney , Tynan's of Kirrawee and Suttons at rosebery , that leaves only 2 i guess , Mccarrols at artarmon and leichhardt alfa fiat , wow new Giulia in , this i guess makes the brand even more exclusive,  have only dealt with one of the above mentioned still running , from the service i received it's a wonder they did not get the boot as well .

If it's anything like Melbourne having less (but hopefully the better) Alfa dealerships can only be a good thing.  Alfas are not a sideline to Jeeps.

You can add another to the Alfa Romeo Sydney Dealership that includes Peter Warren located out west at Warwick Farm. I suppose it's an Alfa Romeo/FIAT Executive decision on such things that  include location, capability and service delivery as the basis for their decision making.

Suttons at Brookvale Sydney (Northern Beaches) is still an Authorised Alfa Romeo Dealer and sell plenty of New Alfas.

A Club night is planned there in the next few months

They sell Alfa Romeo,,Fiat,,Dodge,,Chrysler,,Jeep,,Volvo + Isuzu.

My first experience with the Leichhardt one today, on the parts side of business; had been into Ricky D's plenty of times when Gaspare and Dwayne ruled the parts counter.

This is... different!  Interior of the service department (punter side) feels like a work in progress, no specific parts area, no interpreter available (OK, maybe they were at lunch but if they have more than one they should stagger the meal times).  Spoke with a solid South American chap, probably Argentino; he was one of the service advisors - made him take the details of my request...  Little bit of a test to see if they call back. 

• I'll put it here as a "time stamped" reference for anyone wondering or cruising the net in future, the informal quote for a 147 code card was $85-ish and I was informed that when furnished as a spare part it was not on the small card, but a letter sized piece of paper.

Only two dealers in Sydney! Brisbane has none. Finding it frustrating getting service for my 159.

An update on my experience trying to spend money at Leichhardt FCA...  No call back.

Yes, disappointed, but unsurprised. I'll visit Warrens this week.

Citroenbender , i had a suspicion u would be disappointed with that dealer , am sure if it was not for theyre geographical location ie. in the heart of italian territory , they would have got the flick as well , am talking from past experience ..

Most of the time its the concessionaire
generally they want the dealer to spend $500,000 plus to upgrade their showroom '
or workshop etc and if they refuse they have the brand taken off them and
given to another.
This is the case with a lot of the bigger importers at the moment,
they want to kill the small guys and create super dealers.
I dont think its a good thing but that is what is happening in the bike industry as we speak
and they have just started in cars.

Warren's parts counter was interesting, been there plenty of times for frog bits, I fronted with my printout from eper and the line item highlighted. Young bloke couldn't bring it up on his monitor by part number, went out the back with the VIN to see his overlord, comes back to tell me:

1. The part number was correct per the VIN  (I kept a straight face.)
2. According to the faceless chap out the back, it was no longer possible to get the secure code from Alfa as a part, and I had to make a service booking.  Shades of the old Rick D's, where I remember Gaspare telling me similar (service booking required) about something, followed by a heavy sigh "...And I wouldn't recommend that."

So, definitely they tried harder than Leichhardt FCA, but also they are possibly not being well supported by the importer/parts side of things. I'll give them an elephant stamp.
