Here's another FB group you might like. No good for parts, but these guys will love your work. I think it originated in Poland.

Out under her own steam!  So much done, quite a few little detail things to go but the list is now much shorter. Driven out of the shed and yet to see water she is a bit dusty and needs a detail and polish but all in good time.  More stuff to do yet.

Fuel system: tank replaced, 15 years of sitting left lots of gum in the tank which I was not happy with, the tanks are well baffled and properly cleaning them is chalenging.  An excellent replacement tank was instead found, free of todays gummy fuel buildups.  New fuel pump, filter, all flexible hose and clamps etc replaced.

Brake and clutch: Brake master, slave and proportioning valve all replaced as precaution. Brakes have bled up nicely.  Clutch master and slave replaced.

Glass has been polished, very happy with the results.

The fully rebuilt prop shaft has paid off with beautifull balance.

Speakers cones replaced..originals has done their dash!

New alarm system installed. Now just have to wave the key near the column lock to disable which is kinda cool.

Factory wheels are being restored, should have those back next week.

This week Im on to underbody detailing.

Next job is installing the uprated air con. system.  Ive tried hard to keep her original in every detail but feel that new r134a air compressor and uprated condensor are warranted..if you have an Alfa and prefer not to drive it in the wet..then you would probably appreciate driving it in out hot summers...in comfort!

Looking for a set of nos Seima side repeaters and a perfect bonnet tea tray should anyone have one they would be willing to seperate with.

Slowly but surely she is coming together.

Looks superb Mike, I'm very jealous. Incidentally, I just pulled the non-functioning compressor out of my GTV. Never worked anyway - windows down and sunroof open will just have to do.

This gtv6 came with the reciprocating compressor rather than rotary.  I have a similar setup in my 3.2 quad cam gtv6 and it has excellent air con.  Great in a Perth summer!

Hi Mike
Been following this thread on the restoration/refresh of your Alfetta GTV6 and commend you on first class job in bringing her back to as new condition and keeping us up to date with her progress over the 12 month period. I would imagine that you can't wait until she is finally finished and on the road to enjoy the fruits of your hard earned work.
cheers

Thanks guys,  its certainly been an involved resto.  Lots of people involved along the way who know who they are.

Clutch housing bearings now replaced..just wish we had remembered to do it when the prop shaft was out the first time!

Over the last couple of days Ive been chipping away..somewhat literally, at the underbody.  Degreased..sanded...rust converted...primer...light sand and top coats. No fast way to do this really. Relaxing enough though!

After some searching I also found a repair kit from permatex to touch up the front windscreen aerial where there are a couple of small (1 to 2) mm sections of missing copper.  About $30 for the kit, I'll let people know how I go on that one.  The kit is meant for the rear demister but other than a narrower copper track, the approqch should be the same.

195 60 R15's go on the refurbished wheels next week, still cant decide between Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin in that size.

Still looking for a heater box if somone has a spare, also a bonnet tea tray in as new condition.

Cheers
Mike

Wheels painted and tyres on this morning.  I had the spare refurbed and clad in Pirelli P6 also. A little.

Clutch bearings in the housing replaced and decided to replace clutch while it was appart along with throw out bearing.  Also noted a the isostatic linkage had a damaged nylon cup so replaced it.  Is the list getting shorter or longer?!

Hi Mike,

I can't help with the heater box. I thought I still had a complete one, but I must have sold it.

Is there something specific you need as I have a few bits and pieces for them still.

Belay that.

I just found the one I was thinking of, but I have pulled it down to get something.
You just need the casing? Nothing else?

Pm me your address and I'll send it over.

Fantastic, thanks!

Some progress on plenum. Crinkle paint is still wet so pre wrinkle effect. I'll block back the thinner lines as masking them is not possible.

4 hours of sanding to get to this...always takes longer than I recall!  I've gone for more of a satin look this time, think it will suit. I'll clear cot them for ease of maintenance.
