Hey Guys,
My 147 GTA engine bay is looking a bit sad and worse for wear.

I'm looking for someone to do a proper detail of the engine bay. Not just a simple spray of degreaser, but to really get into every corner and make it look like new again.
Google searches haven't really turned up much in terms of engine bay detailing. Most detailers spruik their fancy opticoat, super glass poly diamond finish paint stuff, but when it comes to interior and engine, they don't really say much. They seem to want to spend hours on the paint, then a quick steam clean inside and engine degrease.

Anyone know where I should go to find someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to engine detailing?

Have you chatted to the detailing supplies shop in Five Dock? They might well know someone dedicated.

Totally understand your comments on perfunctory detailing accompanied by cosmetic overlays. For my own projects I often loosen or remove a number of items in order to get better access in cleaning.

Hi Azram
I would try doing it yourself, as at least you know you have done it right the way you want it. Find link to a previous post on the subject with a very good Youtube video on how it is done.

Asking on here: http://detailparadise.com.au/forum will probably get you better results...

For what it's worth, a GTA engine bay will be a pretty time consuming job, so many different bits and pieces with awkward access that can contribute to making it look a bit shabby.  To have it done really well, I'd probably expect to pay as much just for the engine bay as you would to have the outside paint done.

I'm assuming you mean https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/?

I was thinking of contacting them. I think they used to actually do detailing themselves but stopped at some point.
I'll contact them and see what they say.

Thanks. I watched the video and it doesn't seem too hard.
I'm in an apartment though and don't have anywhere I can use water.
If I could find someone who would detail it to the level in that video (the guy says should only take 2 hours), I'd be more than happy to pay $200+.
Nobody seems to advertise this service anywhere tho..

Hi azaram
If you have difficulty getting someone to do the engine bay detailing, your quite welcome to come over and do the job at my home one Saturday morning (assuming you live in Sydney metro area). I can provide the power, tools and water, you just need to bring the cleaning materials as outlined in the video. PM beforehand so we can arrange.
Cheers

Thanks bonno, that's really generous!

I'll keep trying to find someone to do it as I want to get a pro to give it a really good detail. But I'll keep your offer in mind and may take you up on it if I'm unsuccessful.
I'm in Darlinghurst.. how far away are you?
