Exhaust note on 2.0 jts Spider

I'm looking to gaining a bit more of an exhaust note from my 2003 jts 2.0 Spider. From what I've read online, I'm best to leave the transverse muffler In place and look for a free flowing rear muffler. Does this sound right? Would anyone have a suggestion of a muffler shop to use perhaps in the northern suburbs of Melbourne or Bendigo / Shepparton?  (I'm about midway between the three). Thanks.

Looks like you're breaking new ground here, given the dearth of suggestions.

What about splitting it into two smaller pipes after the resonator, and just running a pair of small hotdogs?

Still no suggestions from anyone familiar with the JTS? 

I had another idea, it's more labour-intensive and costly though. Buy a used exhaust from the second cat section back, and have each muffler replaced with an equal length of pipe. Fit this setup, and drive it for a few days in your normal manner.  It will be loud but not insane. Then you can experiment with swapping back in, the standard sections individually, to see the effect each has.  Finally, back to the exhaust shop so you can instruct clearly based on the "with/without" testing.

Have bought exhausts for my 156 and 33 16 V from Shop Alfisti/Squadra Sportiva. Can highly recommend them on price, packing and quality of products.  No, don't have any connection or business links to them, just like that they still support cars like my 33 16V !!!
