Have just split the long skinny top radiator hose to expansion tank in 81 GTV. Any one know of a readily available alternative to the OEM hose?

Neither my local Supercheap nor Repco have anything comparable - basically looked at various heater hoses, but nothing they had was small enough diameter. Its not urgent - luckily, the split was near expansion tank, so I just cut and reattached, but it's now a lot shorter and runs closer to manifolds.

Hi Poohbah
Information on aftermarket heater hoses is available at the following link. Sizes are both in metric and imperial. A meter length of the appropriate ID size should be sufficient.

Cheers Bonno, I reckon this is similar to the original:

Will measure the inner and outer diameter and try a couple more places tomorrow.

Cheers carlo - if I can't buy local I may give Luke a try.

I am actually going to head over to Clark Rubber - they sell auto heater hose off the roll in different diameters. Hopefully I'll find a match.

Well I found what I needed at a bigger supercheap store - they sell various diameter hoses off the reel - cost a mighty $7.50 for a metre.

Just as well I replaced it - the radiator end of the original was just about to give way too, along withe old jubilee-style clamp.
