Thanks, that's good to know about the bolts and rubber covers.

I didn't know about the different rear top strut mounts. I just had a quick look and it seems like they're thicker and they indeed came on GTAs and sport packs. My car seems to have sport pack, but I'm not too sure.

I believe these are the part numbers:
Standard top strut mount 6 061 3572
GTA/sport pack top strut mount 6 066 3773

Aftermarket substitutions for the two above are the same though.
Try Squadra Sportiva.
I've had parts shipped in from them and been very happy with service and price
They are in Italy.

I've had good dealings with Squadra Sportiva. Good servce and good price on the B6 Bilsteins I have on the front of the car.

A correction though, despite the Italianesque name they are not in Italy, but in Sierksdorf Germany.

John.

Quite very reasonable.

This is the breakdown of what I paid for a pair of Bilstein B6 front dampers from Squadra Sportiva just over one year ago:

dampers each
92.24 Euro
X 2 = 184.48
plus
39.00 post,
totalling
223.48 Euro.

At todays official exchange rate this would come out thusly in AUD$:
141.74
X 2 = 283.52
plus
59.94 post
totalling AUD$334.46

This is by far the best pricing I found for B6 Bilsteins. As you can see SP don't do what some other businesses seem to do, which is quote cheap on the product and then inflate the 'post' cost, they just have good pricing and an honest postal charge.

I dealt with a man named Tim Rauen.

Regards,
John.

60 dollars to ship a pair of shocks across the world is indeed reasonable

johnl

Yes, I agree. It seemed to good to be true when I was given the quote, considering the cost of posting a parcel from e.g. the UK is often more than the cost of the product you may be purchasing...

John.

Best overseas purchase I ever had was buying a Thermostat for a 156 from eBay.

Supplier Location - Latvia
Cost - $35
Freight - Free & by FedEx

Ordered it the Monday morning, got it Wednesday arvo.

I reckon I gave these guys the best Feedback review in eBay history!   ;D
