Faded leather seat

The leather in my 164Q is fading, especially the driver's seat. Is there anything I can do to rejuvenate the color rather than re-upholstering? Thanks

Not sure about re colouring your seat. However the best treatment you can give any leather seat is with a sponge and pure soap (ie velvet soap). Soap up the sponge with warm water and rub - scrub over the leather. Wipe off the residue. You will be amazed at how much dirt and stains you will remove . The lanoline in the soap also helps to keep the leather supple.

Good question Joe.    On my 164, I can clearly see that on the side of the seat there are brush marks in the standard charcoal colour. What ever it was painted on, it did the job well.   SO the proof is that there is a product on the market.

As the leather is a bit cracked and worn in places, I have been looking for similar cream (or paint) to apply to recondition the leather and really enhance look the car.

Nothing at Autobarn etc. Went to IMC and got referred to a panel shop they use. Referred next door to an auto upholsterer and was told there was no product readily available.  There was an $800 minimum option for recolouring that they offered .....

At the end of the day I am going to the local bootmaker and buying a small jar of Wapro renovating cream.  Now that is not permanent and will rub of but I want to try and fill in the cracks etc
followed by a good run over with the quality Autoglym leather care product.  Just have to make do in my instance.
