Front panels needed for an early Alfetta GT or GTV.

As posted under the Buy/Swap/Sell category.  I need a radiator and all the panels forward of the radiator to fit a '76 Alfetta GT.  GTs and GTVs share the same panels except for the grill.
I'll consider anything, a front cut or complete car as long as the panels are ok and the price is reasonable.
Attached is a photo of the car I want to repair.  We hit a roo!

Thanks

OOOOuch. Looks painful Bob , If you don't have any luck try Hugh Harrison At Monza Motors. He still has a fair bit of Alfetta bits & pieces.

Bob - I would guess Richard Anderson from Avanti Spares will have something.  I will PM his mobile number to you if you like

A PM or text to 0402 479 661 would be great thanks Rowan.  I've Googled Avanti, is Richard in Northgate 4013?

An update; I've been very lucky to locate, through an AROCA friend, a local parts car with the panels I need to repair my GT.  Thanks for all the offers from this forum.  It is a great group.

If you get stuck I have a good bonnet lying around.
All the best with it, very sad to see that  :(

BTW, the GT front panel is different to a GTV.  It (the GT) doesn't have the horizontal slots.

There are many GTs fitted with GTV front panels generally because of earlier damage and the wrong panel being used to repair it. That confuses things a little.

The earlier panels were used on US cars through to the late 70's bu5 they had different bumper mounts.

The front metal panel and the guards are the same from 76 to 86.
The radiator support panel and the lower valance are different between the 4 and 6 cylinder cars.
There are minor differences between models as far as the position of side lights etc.
The shape of the front panel and guards is the same for all GTV Alfettas and GTV6 models.
The plastic grills are different but the metal is the same.

Incorrect. The 1.8 GT had different front panels, no vents between the grille and the bumper. It was sold in Australia in 76. The later 1.6 GT was not sold in Australia but did have the vents. Yes, all steel bumper GTV's sold in Australia had the vents as well.

Wonderful to see a car being restored to such a standard.

Great photo Alister. Looking at the original photo it appears Bob's injured Alfetta GT has an Alfetta GTV 2000 front.  ( ie fluting / venting of panel between left & right indicator / above bumper). Or is it just a case of moving bits & pieces of the early evolution on the Alfetta and  what panels they had on the assembly line that day.

Great isn't it, I found it on the web but can't find the link right now.  It was a guy doing a full restoration in Poland, when I'm back on my iPad I should be able to find the link.

But in answer to the question, no it was a black and white change.  I've never seen a non-US GT with the vents from the factory.  As always we can be proven wrong of course so if someone has evidence otherwise that would be of interest.  I would strongly suspect that yes, Bob's car was damaged earlier in it's life and that front panel is not the original one.  Which is typically not of concern as it's not structural and is very easy to replace cleanly.

The world got the original GT1.8 with NO lower valance vents. Then the 2.0 steel bumper car HAD the vents.
So did the American 2.0 cars kept the 1.8 no vent lower valances with the heavy bumpers or was there an American 2.0 with steel bumpers  with or without vents while the rest of the worlds 2.0 cars got the vented valances ???

Correct, GT 1.8 no vents, the rest of the non-US steel bumper cars with vents.

In the US the situation is of course more confusing as they used a variety of names for the Alfetta coupe.  None of their cars had steel bumpers like we know them.  They all had impact bumpers mounted on hydraulic rams and as far as I can tell they retained the no-vents front panel right through to the GTV6.  If you google pictures of "Alfetta GT USA" there are many examples.
