Anyone else have this issue? I've noticed a few others begin to comment.

If viewing on ANY of my PC's or in the browser on phone, I can't see embedded videos. Been like it for months. Perhaps a year?

I dont use tapatalk on mobile so can't comment on that.

EDIT:
I use Chrome and IE and same issue on both. Will update with other tests.
Also tested Firefox with same result. Nothing shows.
I dont have this issue on any other forum.
Below you SHOULD see a "Chris Harris, 4C vs Cayman" video.

End test vid.

UPDATE:
Seems to be the use of HTTPS that throws it out.
HTTP forum URL works.

No problems with Safari on default settings. IE doesn't behave. Haven't tried Mozzarella, which I have on my ancient laptop.

I never have any issues - but others have. So I always now include the web link as well.

Which devices/systems/browsers do you use John?

I have the same issues at home and at work, so it's not network, or even PC specific. :/

In total, let's call it 4 PC's tested and none of them show the embedded videos.

As mentioned, I dont use Tapatalk.

This issue is relating to browser use on Android and PC's.

Shouldn't be a plugin issue as this is the only forum (and I'm on many) which this issue is occuring.

Sorry Chris just saw your message. I use both Chrome and Explorer, and vids work on both my laptops (both Lenovo Thinkpads/Ideapads), and on my android phone.

May be something in your security settings which doesn't recognise/allow certain applications?

Really really odd then given other forums that allow YouTube embed via BB code work, as well as all other web systems (I'm an Ed Tech professional for my sins).

And if it were just Chrome, I'd concede it could be something in my settings against my google profile, but it's IE as well, to which I am not "logged in" in any way. Same with Firefox.

And again, across 4 windows devices? Work and home? (Work ones are Win7, home is Win10).

And the fact that others are having this problem, although they may not realise it. One case in point...

There was another thread where several people mentioned issues but I can't find it right now.

I'll do some digging and see what I can find out.

Just to also clarify, it's reguardless of if I'm logged in to this forum or not. i.e. even happens when viewing as guest.

Ok progress but not really.......

Work PC, Windows 7.
Chrome: Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Noticed that in Chrome (ONLY), when viewing a thread with embedded YouTube video, it prompts for unsafe scripts on page.
This ONLY occurs in threads with video embedded, and only on this forum. Not others I use.
See "Insecure.png"

On enabling unsafe scripts, the YouTube videos display, but the URL is now market as unsecure.
Again, I do not get this on any other forum.
See "Insecure2.png"

Now, I see no such prompt in any other browser, and hence I see no option to "allow unsafe scripts", and hence I still can't see videos on this forum in those browsers.

Ah HA!!!!!!!

Ok........ breakthrough!

It's to do with THIS forum's HTTPS I think.

If I view
http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/forum/index.php?topic=18639.0

I can see all videos fine.

If I view
https://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/forum/index.php?topic=18639.0

I can't. Note the HTTPS address on the later.

Can someone else using PC confirm?

Again, I've tested another forum that uses HTTPS and I don't have this issue there.

So the fix for me (and others I'd be guessing) is to make sure I'm not viewing the more secure URL. Odd lol.
