Just finished finished an engine swap in a 147 (2.0L T Spark)
And the car wouldn't start. Got an Immobiliser Error on dash

Make sure you retain the body computer off the original engine and refit it to the replacement engine
It sits ontop of the throttle body

4 10mm nuts and two really big connectors

I'm really glad I still had the old motor and also glad it was easy to get to

Well, yes. At least it's sorted and runs now.  ;)

Now you've seen where the crank angle sensor is located - down near the starter - buy a brand new OEM spare and keep it in the glovebox. 15 years is about their age limit, and they will kill your car stony dead with no warning.

Wish i had known that before the engine went in

Just make sure you get the right one.

Early TS engines have a Crank Sensor with a long lead & brown plug on it, later ones have just the sensor and a plug at the sensor.
