Hi,

I am after either the original basket weave & vinyl trim or completely retrimmed front & rear seats for a 1750 GTV Series 1 black.

Also looking for (in excellent condition), dashpad (no cracks), door trims (front & rear), carpet, shifter boot, armrests - all in black and any other interior parts eg. heater lever fascia, front quarter window pivot, rear window hinge (in black or white) etc.

Much appreciated.

Hi Adrian i have had some quotes to get my interior retrimmed ,between $2000 -3500
As for finding series 1 105 seats ,i would say you probably wont find any.
Try alfa wreckers in thomastown or ebay ,goodluck

Fast Eddie

Some of the International Alfa parts companies have whole replacement upholstery sets.  Try International Auto Parts, Highwood Alfa, Alfaholics.  Exchange rate won't help this argument though.

Add also Classic Alfa on your shopping list, since some of their parts are cheaper than the other UK suppliers.  Perhaps also EB Spares in the UK.  Lastly re the dash, if you have a cracked one, what about getting it recovered. There are some specialists who do this, I just can't think of their names right now.  Some-else probably will remember this detail and indicative costings.

You can buy original carpet sets but in truth you are probably best getting a local trimmer to do this and the gearstick boot.  All you need is a pattern (eg your old ones) or alternatively a picture of what it looks like.

Just for the record, Milano Spares don't just have 2nd hand parts they also do have a lot of new stuff for 105s.  Ask Mario and the guys there.

You could try The Dashboard Doctor in Melbourne (9383 3958) to get your dash retrimmed.
I had them do my Giulia Super and it looks good (better than new) and did not cost a lot, just under $200 for the dash and the rear parcel shelf if I recall

Hi Barry et al.

From memory my trimmer charged me I think $90/100 to re-do the dash top for my Giulia Super, I am still waiting for the new door cards and parcel shelf.   He charged me $1100 for re-building and recovering my seats (front & rear) in Connolly leather, the leather cost another $1100 for the two hides.

I would have thought though that the dashboard for say a 1750 would be more like $250-400 given its greater complexity compared to the Giulia Supers.  Thanks Barry, I thought it might have been Dashboard Doctor but then thought no that couldn't be the correct name.  I will have to send over my GTV's dashboard one day to get it done properly.  Cheers Dave

Hi
I have a complete 1750 interior retrimed cream colour vinyl with door cards and arm rests

adriank

I know that Ben (blacklotus) had some seats for sale. They were black and re-trimmed nicely in a very fine grained vinly, since my trim was a ticker grain i decided to pass on them. He is in Chatswood, Sydney - look though previous post on for sale/wanted to find his ontact details

Colin
Just checked my records and found that the dashboard top pad cost me $100, the rear parcel shelf $98, and $220 for the four door trims. Have to remember that this was back in 2000. I still reckon that was reasonable at the time.

I ignored the best advice given to me many years ago; that was to not keep records of what the car restoration costs. Do so at your own peril. If you do you will probably regret it, usually if her indoors ever finds out.

Dave,
Hi, How is the Super rebuild going?

I had all the seats in my Super rebuilt (completely) from scratch including repairs to the seat frames (which I had powder coated) plus the carpet front and back for a total of $1300.

Hi Barry

Sorry for the delay in responding, I somehow must have missed your posting.  Agh yes my Super, well I think I previously mentioned that I too had my seats completely done but they were trimmed in Connolly leather and so the total bill for the seats alone was around $2200.  Ditto I also had my gearbox fully rebuilt at a cost of $1100 (parts only). I am going to get back into the old girl soon, but need to raise some $$ for repainting it, properly this time.  I have seen some interesting comments on rebuilding GTV dashes, by filling in the cracks with some sort of bondo, then using a paint (truck bed liner) and then some other paint.  There are some excellent discussions on this method on the BB.  The cost less than $100.

I now have managed to pretty much obtain every missing part, just a few minor things plus a few more of the remaining rubber parts, lights and some mechanical items, which I will be slowly acquiring.  I am going to check with my trimmer, as soon as he is back at work, how the door cards, door grabs and rear parcel shelf are going.  Since apart from carpet, all the interior should be fine now.  I think I still have some of the orginal carpets and so can use them as a pattern.

I will take some pictures of it and once figured out how will post them here on the forum.  I will put together a restoration thread.  I was planning on doing this for the AlfaBB so may as well here. I have previously posted some pics of the Super on the BB.   What I do need do is find my early photos of the car before and during the intial stages of its restoration and scan them.  Dave
