73 GTV Fuse block replacement?

Has anyone replaced their standard fuse block for something more modern for reliability?
I know the original has a few doubled up so you might have to go to a 12 or 16 fuse block, but I would be concerned that there isn't enough space under the dash?

I did this on my 1600 gt,  under the bonnet fuse box about 20 years ago.
  now wish i had kept it original--  lucky i kept the old one .
   I suppose when it is on full view it is a different story.

Not sure why you are wanting to incorporate additional fuses, but find below links to new OEM x10 std  fusebox and NARVA fusebox incorporating 12 fuses, which based on the overall dimension could fit. If you are planning to upgrade to 12 fuse, I suggest you engage your local Auto electrician for advice and installation.

You could try cleaning up your original fuse box. I did this with a 116 car very successfully. Took lots of photos to ensure I could put it back together and then stripped it, washed and dried it, cleaned as best I could with wet and dry and finally gave it a dose of contact cleaner. Reset fuse gaps (ceramic fuses) and reinstalled.
